Symptoms

Why is the cache hit ratio of a CDN node decreased?

Causes

The cache hit ratio of a CDN node may decrease in the following scenarios:
  • When you refresh the resources cached on a CDN node, the cache hit ratio may be decreased in a short period of time.
  • When bandwidth spikes occur, the corresponding CDN node has to redirect more back-to-origin requests to the origin server. As a result, the cache hit ratio is decreased.
  • If the CDN node receives plenty of requests for content that has not been cached, the CDN node has to redirect these requests to the origin server. As a result, the cache hit rate is decreased.
  • If you modify the cache policy, the cache hit ratio may be decreased.
