Simplified and Traditional Chinese Domain Name Equivalence Problem

Last Updated: May 27, 2016

A domain name in either simplified or traditional Chinese is considered as the same domain name. A domain name containing all simplified or traditional Chinese characters can be successfully added. However, if a domain name contains a mix of simplified and traditional characters, the system will display an error message that "The Chinese domain name does not match information returned by the registration office".

For example, both domain names "测试.cn" and "測試.cn" can be added successfully. However, if the user adds a domain name that contains both simplified and traditional characters, such as "测試.cn" or "測试.cn", the domain name will be viewed as incorrect and the system will return an error accordingly.
