This notice provides information about upcoming changes to service costs to help you plan your business operations. Due to a rate policy adjustment by our upstream provider, Viber, the rates for one-time password (OTP) messages will be updated on March 1, 2026.

Policy background

Viber recently announced that effective March 1, 2026, the rates for OTP messages will be aligned with the rates for transactional messages.

This change will increase the cost of sending OTP messages in all countries and regions.

Effective time

• Pay-as-you-go users: Starting at 00:00 (UTC+8) on March 1, 2026, all OTP messages will be billed at the new rate.

• Subscription users: OTP messages sent after the Chat App Message Service rates are updated will be billed at the new rates.

Preparations

To prepare for this rate adjustment, follow these steps:

1. Confirm your account type: Check if your account is subscription or pay-as-you-go to know when the new billing takes effect.

2. Check affected regions: Log on to the console to see which countries and regions your business serves. Because this is a global change, focus on regions where you send a high volume of OTP messages.
