Manage alarm contacts

The contact and contact group information is a prerequisite for the alarm rule function. This is because when any data exception occurs, an alarm is triggered and the alarm notification is sent to the alarm contact and the alarm contact group. The alarm notifications can be sent through text message, an email or TradeManager. Hence, it is required to create a contact and a contact group when you begin to use the alarm rules function for the first time.

Alarm contact management

You can create, modify, or delete the contact information. The details such as phone number, email ID or other contact details which were added at the time of creating the alarm contact or a contact group can be modified and deleted as required.

Create alarm contact

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Click on Create Alarm Contact in the upper-right corner of the page.

  4. Enter all the required details in the Set Alarm Contact page.

  5. An email is sent to complete the verification process. Enter the verification code in the verification code field provided.

  6. Click Save to confirm your action.

Edit alarm contact

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Click Edit in the Actions column to edit the contact information.

  4. Click Save to confirm the changes.

Delete alarm contact

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Select the alarm contact to be deleted and click Delete from the Actions column.

  4. Click Confirm to delete the contact.

Once the contact is deleted, no CloudMonitor alarm notification is sent to the contact.

Alarm contact group management

An alarm contact group may contain one or more alarm contacts. The same alarm contact can be added into multiple alarm contact groups. While creating alarm rules, the alarm notifications can be sent through alarm contact group.

Create alarm contact group

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Click the Alarm Contact Group menu at the top of the page to switch to the alarm contact group list.

  4. Click Create Alarm Contact Group in the upper-right corner to access the Create Alarm Contact Group page.

  5. Enter the group name, contacts you want to add to the group and, all the relevant details in the required fields.

  6. Click OK to confirm your action.

Edit alarm contact group

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Click the Alarm Contact Group menu at the top of the page to switch to the Alarm Contact Group list.

  4. Click Edit in the Actions column to edit the contact group information.

  5. Click Save to confirm the changes.

Delete alarm contact group

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. Select Alarm Contacts under CloudMonitor to go to the Alarm Contact Management page.

  3. Click the Alarm Contact Group menu at the top of the page to switch to the alarm contact group list.

  4. Select the contact group to be deleted from the list and click Delete from the Actions column.

  5. Click Save to confirm the action.

Similarly, you can add multiple alarm contacts to the alarm contact group by selecting the contacts from the alarm contact list. Click Add to the alarm contact group at the bottom of the page and click OK to confirm your selection.
