After you add a website to Edge Security Acceleration (ESA), you can add, edit, and delete DNS records. This topic describes how to perform these operations.
Add DNS records
You can add DNS records in ESA using two methods: batch import or manual entry. For detailed instructions, refer to the following guides: Batch import DNS records and Manually enter DNS records.
Edit DNS records
If you need to update a DNS record, for example, when your site's origin server IP changes, follow these steps:
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target site.
In the left navigation pane, select . Find the record you want to Edit, and click Edit. Update the Record Value information.
Delete DNS records
To delete a DNS record, for example, when a service is taken offline and no longer requires acceleration, follow these steps:
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target site.
In the navigation pane on the left, select . Select the record that you want to delete and click Delete.
Record limits
In ESA, the number of records you can create for a single hostname is limited by the DNS record type. The specific limits are as follows:
DNS type | Limit (count) |
A/AAAA |
|
CAA | 8 |
CERT | 8 |
CNAME | 1 |
MX | 8 |
NS | 8 |
SSHFP | 8 |
SMIMEA | 8 |
SRV | 8 |
TLSA | 8 |
TXT | 8 |
URI | 8 |
