Elastic Compute Service:Clone a prefix list

You can use the prefix list clone feature to copy a prefix list to different regions. This way, you can quickly create identical prefix lists in multiple regions. This topic describes how to clone a prefix list.

Prerequisites

If RAM users are used, the RAM users are granted permissions on prefix lists. For more information, see Grant a RAM user permissions on prefix lists.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network & Security > Prefix Lists.

  3. In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region. Region

  4. On the Prefix List page, find the prefix list that you want to clone and click Clone in the Actions column.

  5. In the Clone Prefix List dialog box, configure the parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

    Select a region to which you want to clone the prefix list. Example: China (Qingdao).

    Name

    Enter a name for the new prefix list (prefix list clone).

    Description

    Enter a description for the new prefix list.

    Max Entries

    Specify the maximum number of entries in the new prefix list. After you create a prefix list, you cannot modify the maximum number of entries in the prefix list.

    Valid values: 1 to 200.

    Note

    When you clone a prefix list, the Address Family and Entries parameters of the new prefix list remain the same as those of the cloned prefix list and cannot be modified during the clone process. If you want to modify the Entries parameter of the new prefix list, we recommend that you modify the parameter after the clone process is complete. For more information, see Manage the entries in a prefix list.

  6. Click Clone.

    After the prefix list is cloned to a region, you can switch to the region to view the new prefix list.
