In order to effectively prevent SMS harassment and fraud, Malaysia has recently strengthened the control of SMS content. Starting from September 1, 2024, Malaysia will impose the following limitations on the SMS content:
URLs and hyperlinks are prohibited.
Phone numbers, such as mobile phone numbers, landline numbers, and toll-free numbers, are prohibited.
Content requesting personal information, such as the ID, bank account number, email, or address, is prohibited.
The brand name or store name must be contained.
