The HTTP/HTTPS task dashboard displays service availability, response time, and network performance across regions and carriers for a synthetic monitoring task. Use this dashboard to identify performance bottlenecks, track availability trends, and pinpoint the slowest cities or carriers.
Open the dashboard
-
Log on to the ARMS console.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Synthetic Monitoring > Scheduled Tests. On the Synthetic Tasks page, click the name of the task.
On the Synthetic Tasks page, click the name of the task.
On the Task Overview tab, view the dashboard.
Summary metrics
The dashboard displays four metrics for the selected time range.
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Availability | Percentage of tests that passed the Availability Assertion conditions. Availability = Successful tests / Total tests x 100%. |
| Response Time | Average time from when an HTTP/HTTPS request is sent to when the complete response is received. |
| Number of tests | Total number of synthetic tests run. |
| Number of errors | Number of tests that failed the Availability Assertion conditions. |
Regional breakdown
The Region Dial Test Overview section shows per-region performance. Each row displays the following metrics for a specific region.
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Availability | Percentage of successful tests from monitoring points in the region. |
| Response Time | Average end-to-end response time in the region. |
| DNS Time | Average time spent on DNS resolution. |
| Connection time | Average time to establish HTTP or HTTPS connections in the region. |
| SSL Usage | Time from when the SSL/TLS handshake begins between the client and the server to when it completes. |
| Request sending time | Average time for the client to send the HTTP/HTTPS request to the server. |
| Waiting for response | Average time the client waits for the response from the server after the request is sent. |
| Download time | Average time from when content download begins to when it completes. |
| Number of tests | Total number of tests run from monitoring points in the region. |
| Number of errors | Number of tests from the region that failed the Availability Assertion conditions. |
Trend charts
The dashboard includes two trend charts for the selected time range.
| Chart | Description |
|---|---|
| Availability Trends | Availability over time. Use this chart to spot drops in service health. |
| Time trend of each stage | Response time trend during the specified time range. Use this chart to identify which stage causes latency spikes. |
Response time by dimension
These charts compare response time across cities and carriers.
| Chart | Description |
|---|---|
| Response Time (City) | Response time trends grouped by city. |
| Response time (Operator) | Response time trends grouped by carrier. |
Rankings
Use these panels to find the slowest cities, carriers, and most frequent error types.
| Panel | Description |
|---|---|
| The city's slowest Top5 | Five cities with the highest average response time. |
| Slowest operators Top5 | Five carriers with the highest average response time. |
| Error Type Top5 | Five most frequent error types across all test results. |
