:Register a PolarDB instance

Background

  • This topic describes the precautions for registering an ApsaraDB for PolarDB database with DMS Enterprise. This topic helps you more quickly and efficiently register the ApsaraDB for PolarDB database for subsequent unified management.

Procedure

    1. Set related parameters. For basic information required for registering a database instance, see Instance management. Pay special attention to the following parameters:
      • (1) Instance Source: Set this parameter to ApsaraDB.
      • (2) Network Type: Set this parameter to Classic Network or VPC as required.
      • (3) Environment: Set this parameter to Production or Test as required.
      • (4) Host: Set this parameter to one of the following supported endpoints in the ApsaraDB for PolarDB console.
        • Supported. Cluster connection endpoint (read/write splitting): xxxxx.PolarDB.rds.aliyuncs.com.
        • Supported. Primary connection endpoint: xxxxx.w.PolarDB.rds.aliyuncs.com.
        • Supported. Custom connection endpoint (read-only): xxxxx.r.PolarDB.rds.aliyuncs.com.
        • Not Supported. SQL acceleration endpoint: xxxxx.ap.PolarDB.rds.aliyuncs.com.
      • (5) Port: Set this parameter to the last digits in the endpoint in the ApsaraDB for RDS console.
      • (6) Instance Name: Set this parameter to an alias for the instance that uniquely distinguishes it from any others in the DMS Enterprise console. You can customize the parameter value as required.
