Smart machines to build habitable planets

Introduction

Humanity has reproduced so much that it cannot continue to confine it on this planet due to high risk of self-destruction. Furthermore, the earth may cease to exist or to have the adequate conditions for the life of men for reasons beyond the control of the human will. We have to achieve, as Elon Musk says, that "humans become a multiplanetary species"[i] for which the company SpaceX aims to create a human colony on Mars of a million people.

Another option is to manufacture huge spaceships, artificial planets, with the capacity for millions of human beings to have a sustainable and productive life, and to go viral. For example, huge O'Neill Cylinders[ii] can be built based on asteroids and smart machines controlled remotely by a small group of managers and engineers.

Habitable space modules

You could start by building a spacecraft on Earth that carries a sustainable habitable module for a few human couples, that has the ability to duplicate itself with materials found in space, taken from asteroids, for humans traveling from Earth or from others colonies or that are born in the modules. They must have "houses", "crops" and "factories" to produce what is necessary for survival, they must also be able to build other equal or better modules that can join the "mother" module or start another group. Hopefully, innovation will be unleashed with the materials found in the new circumstances, continuing diversity on a cosmic scale[iii].

Set of human companies to live in outer space

Ideally, from its beginning, spatial colonization should have a virtual image of the planning, programming, executed processes and their quality controls, environmental, labor, etc., for which a Business Management System in a spatial cloud is required, through a network of strategically located servers and connected with the highest efficiency, containing the applications and data of all the undertakings carried out to initiate and continue the colonization of space.

Intelligent Business Management System

It would be appropriate to start the selection of an ideal system for the management of spatial colonization and begin to apply it in the land to subject it to correction of failures and continuous improvement. A system with ability to understand any other ERP and its complements or similar ones currently in use, with the possibility of making automatic migrations in both directions in order to make large consolidations and to take advantage of the analysis applications of their data in use. The new system should synthesize administrative theories in a proposal simplified by the advance in the understanding of the laws that govern human enterprises.

I have published in this blog the general design and design of the IBMSYS programming that aims to correspond to the expressed requirements. You can read them at the following links:
