Operation

Overdue payment alert

The system checks whether your account balance is sufficient for the next three billing cycles based on the average payable amount for the service over the last 7 hours. If the balance is insufficient, the system sends you a reminder by text message or email.

Warning

If a payment becomes overdue, your service may be suspended. The system sends you reminders. Settle the payment promptly to avoid service interruptions.

Top up your Alibaba Cloud account.

After an overdue payment

  • If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, all pay-as-you-go instances in the account enter the Overdue state.

  • Within 15 days after a payment becomes overdue, billing for the instance is stopped. For instances that use a canonical name (CNAME) record for access, the CNAME record resolves to the origin server, and traffic no longer passes through WAF.

  • If the overdue amount is within your overdraft limit, your instance continues to run. During this period, you will receive daily reminders by text message.

    Note

Alibaba Cloud provides service suspension protection, which lets you continue using pay-as-you-go resources for a specific period of time or up to a specific overdraft limit after an overdue payment occurs in your account. You are billed as usual for resources that you use during this period. The overdraft limit is not the maximum allowed amount of overdue payments. Your overdraft limit or protection period is automatically calculated and updated each month based on factors such as your historical spending on Alibaba Cloud.

Top up your Alibaba Cloud account.

If the payment is overdue for more than 15 days, the instance is released. The data on the instance is then deleted and cannot be recovered.

The data cannot be recovered.
