Hello everyone, today I will share with you the Windows Server of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure 8 Beta quick start. This deployment solution is mainly to install all roles of remote Desktop service on a Server that can enable Hyper-v, of course, the point is that the RDVH role is also this one. You need to create a virtual desktop pool and publish the virtual desktop. In the previous article, we also used fast deployment, but deployed all the roles of the remote desktop on one platform. Today, it is the virtual desktop, that is, VDI ~

OK, let's talk about the environment first. There are only two servers, one DC server and one VMH01 server.

In addition to the domain control role, a certificate server and DHCP server are installed on our DC.

Let's get started. First, VHM01 needs to be added to the domain.

Choose Add roles and features"

choose remote desktop service-based installation"

select quick start"

select Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI deployment plan)

in the server pool, VMH01 is in the selected server column by default. Next

select our virtual desktop VHD template image. Here I use the virtual desktop of Windows 8, so I select the vhd file of Windows 8 ( it cannot be VHDX ), for how to create a template Vhd image file, please refer to "prepare for server virtualization master disk VHD" I wrote before"

gou Xuan the automatic restart option, confirm that the configuration is correct, and click deploy (this tells us that the VMH01 server will automatically install the RDWA,RDCB, and RDVH roles)

in this way, the VHM01 server automatically starts to install related roles and services, and automatically configures and restarts, which is very intelligent and simple. After the configuration of VMH01 is completed, VHM01 is automatically installed Hyper-V role.

The VMH01 server has been automatically restarted, and then the virtual machine set is automatically created.

When creating a virtual desktop, you can open the Hyper-V and see that two virtual machines appear automatically.

The Green virtual machine is the virtual machine of the Windows 8 template image we just selected, and the red virtual machine is the virtual desktop virtual machine generated based on the Green virtual machine, after the generation is completed, the snapshot is automatically taken (the red part below) and the virtual machine is saved. The template virtual machine is in the shutdown state, that is, the shutdown state after sysprep. We can take a detailed look at the disk content of the red virtual machine, as shown in the following figure:

it is a differential virtual hard disk, that is, a virtual machine based on the difference of our template machine.

You can see that all tasks have been completed successfully and tell you the logon address of RDWEB. At the same time, the network connection Hyper-v can be automatically created in the vSwitch manager of the RDS Virtual manager. However, unlike the previous Hyper-V of 08 R2, an extension is added, as shown in the following figure:

everything is OK, then let's try logging on to the virtual desktop:

after logging in, you can see our virtual desktop ~ but this is a shared virtual desktop, there is no one-to-one matching! Landing see

click Connect to enter the virtual desktop automatically.

You can see that the virtual machine started to connect to the backend Hyper-v. In the Hyper-v, we can see that the red virtual machine that has been saved just now has waken up and become running, this means that we can log on to the virtual desktop normally.

We can see a small change, as shown in the following figure:

A symbol similar to wireless connection is added. You can click it to see the connection quality of our virtual desktop. Then let's cancel it.

After you click cancel, you can see that the VM starts to restore snapshots in the Hyper-v in the background, as shown in the following figure:

in this way, our VDI solution is deployed, but how can we use only one virtual desktop? How to add a new virtual desktop? Now it is very convenient and simple. Open the Server Manager and select the virtual pool of remote desktop services.

In the VM dialog box that appears, choose tasks> add virtual machine"

is it very convenient and simple to automatically create and generate more virtual desktops by directly entering the number? For example, enter 2 and click Next

it lets you choose which RDVH to create two virtual machines (virtual desktop), and displays the existing RDVH processor, memory size, and number of existing virtual machines.

in this way, we start to create virtual machines. Let's go to the Hyper-v and have a look

as mentioned above, two new virtual machines and virtual desktops are created based on the template virtual machine. Each virtual machine is automatically created and then saved, after the user logs in to the connection, it automatically becomes running.

Where to set the virtual machine policy for the virtual pool? For example, map those devices and allow users to use virtual desktops, as shown in the following figure:

the user group is to add the shared virtual desktop that users can use here.

Client refers to the mapping of devices that users allow when logging on to the virtual desktop. In the past, 08R2 needs to be set in the remote desktop session host configuration or group policy, but now it is centralized in one console, so it is more convenient and simpler! Of course, all virtual machines can be recreated in batches. Where can I set them? See the following figure:
