This template demonstrates the best practices for migrating VMware systems that are deployed or hosted in an on-premises data center to DDH. You can use DDH to build a resource pool composed of dedicated physical servers on the cloud, and use ECS to take full advantage of the resource elasticity and pay-as-you-go billing model on the cloud. This way, you can build a highly reliable and scalable high-performance virtualization system that can meet enterprise-level requirements such as security, compliance, custom deployment, and Bring Your Own License (BYOL). This template helps establish an image storage and tool environment.
The deployment instruction for the solution - Migrate the VMware System to DDH - Establish an Image Storage and Tool Environment is following:
1. Check the alibaba cloud account permission, should include these services ECS, VPC, RAM, and OSS.
2. Click the Create Stack button/link, follow the wizard to specify parameters and etc.
3. Once the stack created, query ECS information through the stack output page, and complete the upload and format conversion of vmWare image in the ECS console or through SSH login ECS execution commands(cd / && ./convert.sh).
Please check the best practice for detailed information.
