Dubai Parks and Resorts is the Middle East’s largest integrated leisure and theme park destination located in Dubai. Spread over 25 million square feet, it features more than 100 rides and attractions, and consists of three theme parks: MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, Bollywood Parks™ Dubai and LEGOLAND Dubai, and one water park: LEGOLAND Water Park. It also encompasses Riverland Dubai, a themed retail and dining destination, as well as the Polynesian-themed family resort, Lapita Hotel Dubai
02Challenge
Dubai Parks and Resorts marketing and sales strategy is fully established and focused on generating ticketing and package revenues from both international tourists and residents. International sales, forecast to generate approximately 70 per cent of visitors, will be driven by Dubai Parks and Resorts’ marketing presence in Saudi Arabia, UK, Germany, India, China, Nigeria and Russia.
03Deployment
To keep up with growth and the competition, Dubai Parks and Resorts needed a cloud solution that could handle peak loads during holidays, could scale vertically, had a global reach, could monitor networks effectively, and offered high availability.
The first step in the process was a redesign of their website architecture. They achieved smooth responses to user demand by implementing Alibaba Cloud’s auto scaling, and low latency by utilizing Alibaba Cloud’s local dubai data center. By employing Server Load Balancer, Multi-zone Requests can be rapidly switched to a backup zone to restore service within 30s, meaning their website stays up even when the worst happens. Dubai Parks and Resorts also used AsparaDB for Redis for memory caching and high-speed access to applications hosted on the cloud.

Finally, by implementing Alibaba Cloud’s CDN, Dubai Parks and Resorts can get great application performance worldwide. The launch of their new ticketing portal on Alibaba Cloud now means they can sell fun anywhere in the world.
