How are discounts applied if a service has its own pay-as-you-go discount?

The final cost is USD 200 × 60% = USD 120.

Usage from all regions is aggregated. The savings plan applies to the total bill, and excess usage is charged at the standard pay-as-you-go rate.

How does a savings plan work if the number of covered instances is not an integer?
For example, if your plan covers 18,22 Prometheus instances per day and you run 19, the first 18 are fully covered. For the 19th instance, 22% is covered by the plan and the remaining 78% is charged at the standard pay-as-you-go rate.
