File gateways support the reverse synchronization feature. Reverse synchronization allows you to synchronize metadata of objects in an Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket to the associated file gateway. This way, you can monitor changes to objects in the bucket directly from the file gateway.

Scenarios

  • You can use the reverse synchronization feature to implement data sharing across multiple gateways that are mapped to the same OSS bucket.
  • You can use the reverse synchronization feature to restore data on the gateway side from the associated OSS bucket.
Note The default time interval of reverse synchronization is 900 seconds. Reverse synchronization uses a scan mechanism to detect changes to objects in OSS buckets. A short reverse synchronization interval may affect your business performance. We recommend that you set a reverse synchronization interval based on your business requirements.

Configure reverse synchronization

You can enable the reverse synchronization feature when you create a share. For more information, see Create a share.
