This topic provides answers to some commonly asked questions about the billing methods of Dedicated Host (DDH).

Which billing methods does DDH support?

DDH supports the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods.
  • Subscription: You can purchase and renew dedicated hosts by week, month, or year. When you purchase a dedicated host, you can deploy as many ECS instances as it can support. No additional charges are generated for computing resources and local disks.
  • Pay-As-You-Go: You are charged based on the actual usage duration of your dedicated host. Resources are metered in seconds, and bills are generated on an hourly basis.
For more information, see Overview.

Do I need to pay for the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances that run on a dedicated host?

When you create ECS instances on a dedicated host, you are not charged for the vCPU, memory, and local disks (if applicable) of the instance. However, you are charged for the cloud disks, internet bandwidth, images, and snapshots of the instance. For more information about the billing methods of ECS instances, see Billing overview.

What do I do when my dedicated host expires or my account is suspended due to overdue payments?

If you want to use an expired dedicated host, you must renew it. Otherwise, the dedicated host and the ECS instances on it will be automatically stopped. For more information, see Dedicated host billing.

If the account is suspended due to overdue payments, you must submit a ticket to add funds to your account.
