Application Real-Time Monitoring Service:How do I troubleshoot the manual installation failure of the ARMS agent?

Last Updated:Dec 22, 2023

Issue

The ARMS agent fails to be manually installed.

Note

For information about how to check whether the ARMS agent is installed, see How do I check whether an ARMS agent is installed?

Solution

  1. Download an ARMS agent based on the region where your application resides. ARMS endpoint information is encapsulated in the installation package. The ARMS agent may be deployed over the Internet in a region different from the region where the application resides.

  2. If the LicenseKey is invalid. error appears in the logs in the ArmsAgent/log/ directory, check whether the application and the ARMS agent reside in different regions.

  3. Check whether the license key specified in the startup command is the same as that obtained in the ARMS console.

  4. Check whether the JDK version is supported by ARMS. If the JDK version is 1.8.0_25 or 1.8.0_31, you may be unable to install the agent. We recommend that you upgrade the JDK version. For more information about the JDK versions supported by Application Monitoring, see Java components and frameworks supported by ARMS.

  5. If the subdirectory of logs does not exist in the ArmsAgent directory after the application is started, the aliyun-java-agent.jar file is not loaded. Check whether the permissions of the ArmsAgent directory are valid.

  6. If the issue persists, contact technical support (DingTalk ID: arms160804).
