Alibaba Cloud Domain Privacy and Proxy Service will be Suspended.
To comply with ICANN’s Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our registrar’s public WHOIS output will no longer display personal data from 25 May 2018. As your privacy will be protected by default after the change becomes effective, Privacy and Proxy Service provided by Alibaba Cloud will be suspended after 25 May 2018. Read details.
Domain name proxy service is a value-added domain name service that protects the identity and personal information of registrants, administrators, technical contacts, and payers by making the registration information unavailable in the WHOIS database.
This service protects your privacy, reduces the number of spams, and minimizes personal information leakage. and does not affect using your domain name.
To set the domain name proxy protection, follow these steps:
- Log on to the Domains console.
- Locate the domain name that you want to protect, and click Manage.
- On the Basic Information page, from the left-side navigation pane click Proxy and Security.
- Enable or disable the Domain name proxy service.
Effect of domain name proxy protection
Before proxy protection is enabled, your personal information is displayed.
After proxy protection is enabled, your personal information is not displayed.
