:When I upload my CSR file, the system displays an error message, which indicates that a validation failure occurred due to the absence of the base domain name. What do I do?

Last Updated:Dec 09, 2022

Problem description

When I upload a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) file to apply for an SSL certificate, the system displays an error message, which indicates that a validation failure occurred due to the absence of the base domain name.

Causes

When you create a CSR file, you do not correctly configure the Common Name field.

Solutions

Create and upload the CSR file again. Make sure that the Common Name field is correctly configured.

Note

The Common Name field must be the base domain name that is bound to the certificate. To ensure that the content of a CSR file is valid, we recommend that you use the system to automatically generate the CSR file. This allows you to download the certificate in different formats after your certificate is issued.

Application scope

  • Certificate Management Service
