Why to set accessible IP address/segment for database, and how to do it

Last Updated: Jul 13, 2016

Supported formats: %, 0.0.0.0/0; 10.23.12.24 (IP); 10.23.12.24/24 (CIDR mode; /24 represents the length of the prefix in the IP address, range [1, 32]). The % or 0.0.0.0/0 indicates no limits are imposed.

For the safety of your database, we recommend you configure the IP addresses or IP segments allowed to access your database. If no configurations are in place, this security measure will be absent. Separate the multiple IP addresses or IP segments with comma. They cannot be duplicated and a maximum of 15 items are allowed.
