Status code 403 is returned when a user accesses Alibaba Cloud CDN accelerated resources

Last Updated: Jan 29, 2018

If the server returns status code 403 when accessing the CDN resources, perform the following troubleshooting steps:

1‪. Check whether the CDN domain can access the origin site. You can modify the local host file to direct the access to the origin site IP. Steps:

  • Path of local host file: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
  • Modify hosts file to add a record, then save. The former is the origin site IP, and the latter is the CDN domain. Example:

2‪. Try with another URL using the same CDN to see if it results in error 403 when accessing the origin site

  • If it also results in error 403 when accessing the origin site, it is correct for CDN to return error 403.
  • If it does not return error 403 when accessing the origin site, check the anti-leech configuration of the CDN. How to check:

Whitelist: specified referers or empty referers can be given access from the whitelist. See the following configuration information:

Blacklist: referers in the blacklist cannot have access. See the following configuration information:
