Double-click the OpenClaw icon on the cloud computer desktop to open OpenClaw Control.
Chat with OpenClaw to verify that the environment and model configuration are correct.
Interact with OpenClaw through Agent IM
Agent IM is a built-in instant messaging channel developed by EDS. End users can interact with OpenClaw through Agent IM directly in the client, without opening OpenClaw Control on the desktop.
Prerequisites
The Alibaba Cloud Workspace client version is
8.5.1or later. The OpenClaw cloud computer image version is
3.0.2or later.
Verify the channel status
The Agent IM channel is enabled by default. To verify or manage the channel status:
On the OpenClaw page, click Channel Configuration.
Click View/Configure Channel and check the status of Wuying Agent IM Channel.
Use Agent IM
The end user logs on to the Alibaba Cloud Workspace client with a convenience account or an AD account.
Connect to the OpenClaw cloud computer.
Send questions or instructions to OpenClaw through Agent IM to start interacting.
Integrate with DingTalk and chat with the bot
Select an IM platform in channel configuration to send tasks and instructions to OpenClaw through chat. The following example uses DingTalk. For other integration options, see More channel integrations.
Go to the AI Management Center.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose OpenClaw.
Click Channel Configuration.
In the Actions column of the target Agent, click View/Configure Channel.
On the DingTalk card, click Configure Now.
On the page that appears, select one of the following methods to complete the bot integration:
Express Pairing
The cloud computer image version must be Windows 3.2.18 or later, or Linux 3.0.10 or later. Restart the cloud computer if an update is needed.
Click Send Now. The system sends an SMS or email with an access link to the authorized user.
The authorized user opens the URL from the SMS or email to access the binding page and obtain a QR code. You can also obtain the URL directly from the console.
Scan the QR code with DingTalk to complete the bot binding.
Chat with the bot in DingTalk to verify the connection.
If another bot is already bound, scanning the QR code replaces the existing binding.
Associate Existing Robot
Create a DingTalk app
Your DingTalk organization must have developer permissions. If it does not, see Obtain developer permissions. If you do not have a suitable organization, scan the following QR code with the DingTalk mobile app to quickly create one.
Log on to the DingTalk Open Platform developer console.
In the top navigation bar, click Application Development. On the Application Development page, click Create Now to quickly create an OpenClaw bot app.
On the Create OpenClaw page, enter the bot name, description, and icon. You can also keep the default settings. Click OK to confirm.
After creation, the page displays the Client ID and Client Secret of the app. Copy and save them securely. You will need them when configuring the DingTalk channel in the AI Management Center.
NoteThe Client ID and Client Secret are credentials for accessing app data. Keep them secure and do not share them.
Enter credentials to complete the binding
Return to the AI Management Center. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret of the DingTalk app and click OK.
Chat with the bot in DingTalk to verify the connection.
Chat with the DingTalk bot
Open DingTalk and enter the name of the DingTalk app you created in the search box at the top.
In the search results, click the bot under the Features section to open the chat.
Enter a question or instruction to chat with the DingTalk bot.

FAQ
How do I back up and restore OpenClaw user data (Skills, memory files, etc.)?
OpenClaw stores all personalized user data — including Skills, memory files, and workspace content — in the hidden directory .openclaw/workspace/ under the user's home directory.
Linux:
/home/admin/.openclaw/workspace/
To back up your data:
Before changing the image or resetting the cloud computer, package the entire .openclaw/ directory and download it to your local machine. Example command for Linux:
tar -czf openclaw-backup.tar.gz /home/admin/.openclaw/After creating the archive, transfer it to your local storage.
To restore your data:
After provisioning a new cloud computer or completing a reset, upload the backup archive and extract it to the same path.
The backup covers the entire .openclaw/ directory. It may include more data than what is visible in the Workspace interface — this is expected behavior.
What should I do if OpenClaw does not respond when double-clicked, cannot start, or the Config button is unresponsive?
Follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:
Check the gateway status: Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select Terminal (or any option beginning with Open t). In the terminal, run:
openclaw gateway statusIf the status is abnormal, restart the gateway service:
openclaw gateway restartAutomatically repair the environment: If configuration options are not displayed in the UI, or if clicking has no effect, the service may be corrupted. Run the following command to automatically repair the OpenClaw environment:
openclaw doctor --fixRestart the cloud computer: If the issue persists, create a snapshot to back up your data first (refer to the FAQ entry above), then restart the cloud computer instance and reconnect.
