App Streaming:Publish a delivery group

Last Updated:Feb 27, 2026

A delivery group provisions cloud application resources from an image and assigns them to end users. Publishing a delivery group involves selecting compute specifications, configuring billing, and assigning users.

Prerequisites

  • An image containing the required cloud applications has been created. View available images on the Custom Image tab of the Images page.

  • An office network is available, or you plan to create one during the publishing process.

Publish a delivery group

  1. Log on to the App Streaming console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Delivery Groups.

  3. On the Delivery Groups page, click Publish Delivery Group. Alternatively, go to the Images page, open the Custom Image tab, find the target image, and click Publish Delivery Group in the Actions column.

  4. In the Publish Delivery Group panel, configure the following parameters, then click Buy Now. Region and office network Configure delivery group (Optional) Assign user (Optional) Advanced settings Other

    Description

    Region and Office Network

    Region

The region where the delivery group resides. To reduce latency, select a region close to the users.

    Note

After you publish a delivery group, you cannot change the region where the delivery group resides. Carefully plan the region before you publish a delivery group.

    Office Network

    The office network.

You can select an existing office network or create a new one by following the on-screen instructions.

    Note

After you create an office network, click the icon on the right side of the Office Network drop-down list to update the office network list.

    • You can change the auto-renewal duration. To do so, choose Expenses > Renewal Management in the top navigation bar and go to the Resource Renewal page in the Expenses and Costs console.

Manage a delivery group

After a delivery group is published, update its policy, image, assigned users, and other settings from the Delivery Groups page. To find a specific delivery group, search by status, name, or ID.

Change the policy

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, click Update Policy.

  2. In the Update Policy panel, select a policy from the list, then click OK.

Update the image

Updating the image of a delivery group assigns different applications to end users without creating a new delivery group. No additional charges apply because no additional resources are required.

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, click Update Image.

  2. In the Update Image panel, select the new image and click Start to Update.

    Warning

Warning: When the image update starts, all resources in the delivery group reboot immediately. End users cannot access any cloud application from the delivery group, and active sessions are terminated immediately. Make sure your end users are notified beforehand to avoid data loss.

While the update is in progress, the delivery group status changes to Updating. After the update completes, the changes take approximately 2 minutes to apply to the terminal.

Update assigned users

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, click Update Assigned Users.

  2. In the View/Assign Users panel, add or remove users, then click Close. You can also create users by clicking Created User on the Users page. For more information, see Manage users.

After you update the assigned users, a notification email is sent to the selected users. The changes take approximately 2 minutes to apply to the terminal.

Manage OTA updates

App Streaming pushes over-the-air (OTA) update tasks to update components.

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, click OTA Updates. If specific cloud applications pushed OTA update tasks to you, a red dot appears in the upper-right corner of OTA Updates in the Actions column.

  2. On the Update Settings tab of the OTA Updates panel, view the OTA version description and set the start time for the update. The start time must be within seven days from the current time.

  3. To view past updates, open the Update History tab.

Renew subscription resources

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, click Renew Resources.

  2. In the Renew Resources dialog box, view the expiration time of the resources, select a renewal duration, and click OK.

  3. On the Purchase page, select a payment method and click Subscribe.

For billing details, see Billing overview.

Note

To receive expiration reminders, go to the Overview page in the left-side navigation pane. In the Deliver Group section, turn on Renewal Reminder. The console then displays a message when resources are about to expire or have already expired.

Release or delete a delivery group

Release delivery groups that are no longer needed. You can also delete subscription delivery groups that failed to be published.

  1. In the Actions column of the target delivery group, perform one of the following operations:

    • Subscription delivery group in the Expired state: click Purge Resources.

    • Subscription delivery group in the Recycling state: click Delete.

    • Pay-as-you-go delivery group in the Published, Updating, Update Failed, or Payment Overdue state: click Purge Resources.

  2. In the Purge Resources or Delete message, confirm the information and click Confirm.

Result

After a delivery group is published, App Streaming sends an activation notification to the email addresses and mobile phone numbers of the assigned users. The notification includes the workspace ID and username. End users use these credentials to access the cloud applications through Alibaba Cloud Workspace terminals.
