After you log on to the mobile client, the cloud computers assigned to you are displayed as cards. You can use these cards to connect to your cloud computers and manage their power states.
The examples in this topic are based on the iOS client V7.7 and the Enterprise Edition. If your experience differs from the description in this topic, you may be using a different client or an outdated version. Upgrade to the latest version.
Prerequisites
You are logged on to the mobile client. For more information, see Log on to the mobile client of cloud computers.
You have an assigned cloud computer. If you do not have a cloud computer after you log on, contact your IT administrator to assign one to you. For more information, see Assign cloud computers to users.
Connect and disconnect
Connect to a cloud computer
If the cloud computer card shows Running in the upper-right corner, click the icon in the lower-right corner of the card.

After you log on to the client, if you have only one cloud computer, it may connect automatically. To change this setting, see Configure a desktop client.
Disconnect from a cloud computer
After you connect to the cloud computer, click the DesktopAssistant, then click Disconnect.

Automatically connect to a single cloud computer
If you have only one cloud computer, you can choose whether to automatically connect to it after you log on.
Open the client.
Choose .

On the Sign-in tab, in the Auto-connect Sole Cloud Computer section, select or clear one or more of the following options:

If it is running: Automatically connect.
If it is hibernated: Wake it up and then connect.
If it is shut down: Start it up and then connect.
Manage power
Similar to a physical computer, a cloud computer can be started, shut down, restarted, and hibernated. You can manage the power state of your cloud computer from the cloud resources screen.
Start the cloud computer
If the cloud computer card is gray and shows Stopped in the upper-right corner, you can click the icon in the lower-right corner of the card. After the cloud computer starts, the card shows Running in the upper-right corner.

Shut down the cloud computer
Shutting down stops all running processes and causes the loss of unsaved files and data. Before you shut down the cloud computer, make sure that you have saved or backed up your data.
You can shut down the cloud computer in the following ways:
Shut down directly
While connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, click Shut Down, then click OK.
NoteThis operation is supported only for Windows cloud computers that use the ASP protocol.
If you are not connected to the cloud computer: On the Cloud Resources screen, on the cloud computer card, choose , then click OK.

Create a scheduled shutdown policy
You can use a scheduled task upon disconnection to automatically shut down the cloud computer after it has been disconnected for a specified period.
On the cloud computer card, click Manage, then click Policies.
In the Scheduled Tasks upon Disconnection section, select a disconnection duration, and set the action to Shut Down.
NoteIf your administrator has disabled policy modification, the settings on this panel are read-only and cannot be changed.
Hibernate the cloud computer
Hibernation saves all open files and running processes on the cloud computer. When you wake up the cloud computer, you can resume your work.
Hibernation is not supported for High Frequency Office cloud computers or any Graphics cloud computer types.
Hibernation is not supported in the following regions:
Philippines (Manila)
SAU (Riyadh - Partner Region)
If a cloud computer remains in hibernation for 15 consecutive days, it is automatically shut down. Save your data promptly to avoid data loss.
Only cloud computers that are Running or In Use can be hibernated. You cannot create or use restore points for a cloud computer that is Hibernated.
Hibernate directly
While connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, click Hibernate, then click OK.
NoteThis operation is supported only for Windows cloud computers that use the ASP protocol.
If you are not connected to the cloud computer: On the Cloud Resources screen, on the cloud computer card, choose , then click OK.
NoteA card for a hibernated cloud computer shows Hibernated in the upper-right corner. Click Connect to wake it up and connect to it. The wake-up process typically takes 30 seconds.
Create a scheduled hibernation policy
You can use a scheduled task upon disconnection to automatically hibernate the cloud computer after it has been disconnected for a specified period.
On the cloud computer card, click Manage, then click Policies.
In the Scheduled Tasks upon Disconnection section, select a disconnection duration, and set the action to Hibernate.

Restart the cloud computer
Restarting stops all running processes and causes the loss of unsaved files and data. Before you restart the cloud computer, make sure that you have saved or backed up your data.
You can restart the cloud computer in the following ways:
While connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, click Restart, then click OK.
