This topic describes how to add a vSwitch to a resource share. After the vSwitch is added to the resource share, participants can create cloud resources in the shared vSwitch.

Add a shared vSwitch

VPC sharing is enabled for the resource share. For more information, see Enable VPC sharing.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where you want to add a shared vSwitch.
    For more information about the regions that support shared vSwitches, see Feature release and supported regions.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Resource Shares tab, find the resource share that you want to manage, and then click the ID of the resource share.
  5. In the Shared Resources section, click Edit.
  6. In the vSwitch list, find the vSwitch that you want to add, click Add, and then click OK.
    After you add the vSwitch, you can view the status of the vSwitch.
    • If the status of the vSwitch is Associated, the vSwitch is shared. Resource users can create cloud resources in the shared vSwitch after they are invited to the resource directory. For more information, see Create cloud resources in a shared vSwitch as a participant.
    • If the status of the vSwitch is Failed, the system failed to share the vSwitch. Reasons that may cause sharing failures are as listed. You can troubleshoot the errors and try again.
      • The Alibaba Cloud account of the resource user is the same as that of the resource owner. Resource owners are not allowed to share vSwitches with themselves.
      • The number of resource users that share a single VPC has reached 20.
      • The number of resource users that share a single vSwitch in a VPC has reached 20.
      • The number of vSwitches that are shared with a single resource user has reached 10.

  1. Log on to the VPC console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click vSwitch.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the shared vSwitch is deployed.
  4. On the vSwitch page, view the shared vSwitches.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the shared vSwitches are deployed.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Shared Resources tab to view all the shared vSwitches that belong to the current account.
  5. Optional:Find the shared vSwitch that you want to view, and click View in the Resource Share column to view the resource share to which the shared vSwitch belongs.
  6. Optional:Find the shared vSwitch that you want to view, click View in the Shared Target column to view the participants with which the vSwitch is shared.

Remove a shared vSwitch from the Resource Management console

You can remove shared vSwitches. After you remove a shared vSwitch, the participants of the vSwitch cannot create cloud resources in the vSwitch.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the shared vSwitch that you want to remove is deployed.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Resource Shares tab, find the resource share that you want to manage, and then click the ID of the resource share.
  5. In the Shared Resources section, click Edit.
  6. In the Selected Resources section, find the vSwitch that you want to remove, click Remove, and then click OK.

Add a participant in the Resource Management console

You can add participants to a resource share. After you add the participants, they can create cloud resources in the shared vSwitch.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region to which the participants that you want to add belong.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Resource Shares tab, find the resource share that you want to manage, and then click the ID of the resource share.
  5. In the Shared Target section, click Edit.
  6. In the Add Shared Target section, configure the information and click OK.

After the vSwitch is shared, you can view the participants of the vSwitch, including the participant ID, participant type, number of the resource shares, and number of available vSwitches.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region to which the participant that you want to view belongs.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Shared Targets tab to view the participants that belong to the current account.
  5. Optional:Find the participant that you want to view, and click View in the Resource Share column to view the resource share to which the participant belongs.
  6. Optional:Find the participant that you want to view, and click View in the Shared Resource column to view the vSwitches that are shared with the participant.

Remove a participant in the Resource Management console

You can remove participants. After you remove a participant, the participant cannot create cloud resources in the shared vSwitch.

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the participant that you want to remove belongs.
  4. On the Resources I Share page, click the Resource Shares tab, find the resource share that you want to manage, and then click the ID of the resource share.
  5. In the Shared Target section, click Edit.
  6. In the Added Shared Targets section, find the participant that you want to remove, click Remove in the Action column, and then click OK.
