Use Grafana to visualize monitoring data

Last Updated: May 19, 2022

Grafana is an open source tool that is used to visualize time series data. Grafana can be used in a wide range of scenarios. For example, you can use Grafana to analyze application data on the Internet and monitor industrial data and weather data. You can also use Grafana to monitor automated home appliances and manage business processes. TSDB for InfluxDB® is integrated into Grafana. You can use Grafana without the need to install or deploy Grafana. You can quickly create dashboards based on the time series data that is stored in TSDB for InfluxDB® instances. This topic describes how to use Grafana supported by TSDB for InfluxDB® to visualize data.

Prerequisites

A TSDB for InfluxDB® instance is purchased and a database is created in the instance. The account that can be used to log on to the database is created. For more information, see Manage user accounts and databases.

Step 1: Apply for a public endpoint that can be used to connect to Grafana

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud official website.

  2. In the top navigation bar of the TSDB console, select the region where your TSDB for InfluxDB® instance is created in the upper-left corner.

  3. Find the instance that you want to manage and click Manage in the Actions column.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Grafana Visualization > Service Access and Account.

  5. On the page that appears, click Activate Grafana Access Link to apply for a public endpoint for the TSDB for InfluxDB® instance. You can use the public endpoint to connect to Grafana.Image 75
