Why do my fees for Simple Log Service significantly increase in the month when I purchase a resource plan?

Resource plans use the subscription billing method. When you purchase a resource plan, the entire fee is paid upfront and included in that month's bill, which causes a noticeable spike in your Simple Log Service charges. In subsequent months, your usage fees are offset by the resource plan quota, so your monthly bills will be lower.
