Last Updated:Aug 29, 2023

This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQ) about alert notification methods.

How do I configure an IP address allowlist for a custom webhook?

When you configure a custom webhook, you can configure an IP address allowlist or specify an HTTP header to verify access permissions. For more information about how to configure an IP address allowlist, see How do I verify access permissions?

Important

Only the alerting feature of the new version allows you to configure IP address allowlists for custom webhooks.

Can I specify signatures in the security settings of a DingTalk chatbot?

Yes, you can specify a signature in the security settings of a DingTalk chatbot. You can also specify a signature in the security settings of a Lark bot. For more information, see Webhook security settings.

How do I use different notification methods to send alert notifications by alert?

You can use the dynamic distribution feature or dynamic recipient feature to send alert notifications by alert by using different notification methods.

  • Dynamic distribution

If the specified conditions are simple and the information about all recipients is added to the alerting system of Simple Log Service, you can use the dynamic distribution feature in an action policy. For more information, see Manage methods to send alert notifications.

  • Dynamic recipient

If the specified conditions are complex, you can use the dynamic recipient feature. For example, if the recipient information needs to be parsed from logs or the recipient information is saved in a third-party user management system, you can use the dynamic recipient feature. For more information, see Configure dynamic recipients.

What do I do if an alert is triggered but alert notifications fail to be sent?

For information about the causes and solutions, see Error codes.
