Simple Log Service:Sending period

Last Updated:Jun 10, 2026

The sending period in an action group controls when alert notifications are sent. Configure the sending period to route alert notifications to the right channel at the right time.

Sending period

A notification is sent only when the alert trigger time falls within the configured sending period. If the trigger time falls outside the period, the notification is canceled.

Note

The sending period is based on the global default calendar, which defines workday, non-workday, working hours, and non-working hours. For more information, see Modify the global default calendar.

  • Any: Sends notifications at any time.

  • Workday: Sends notifications only on a workday.

  • Non-workday: Sends notifications only on a non-workday.

  • Working hours: Sends notifications only during working hours on a workday.

  • Non-working hours: Sends notifications in either of these cases:

    • On a non-workday (any time)

    • During non-working hours on a workday

Example 1: DingTalk during working hours, SMS during non-working hours

To receive alert notifications through DingTalk during working hours and SMS during non-working hours, add two notification channels to your action group. For configuration instructions, see Action policy.

  • DingTalk channel: Set Sending period to Working hours.

  • SMS channel: Set Sending period to Non-working hours.

For the DingTalk channel, set Notification method to All and Content template to SLS built-in content template. For the SMS channel, set Recipient type to static recipient and Content template to SLS built-in content template.

Example 2: DingTalk and email during working hours, plus voice call during non-working hours

When a severe alert fires, you can configure DingTalk and email notifications during working hours, and these channels plus a voice call during non-working hours. Configure two action groups as follows. For configuration instructions, see Action policy.

  • voice call channel: Set Sending period to Non-working hours.

  • email and DingTalk channels: Set Sending period to Working hours.

Configure the condition node to match alerts where Alert severity is severe. For the voice call channel, set Recipient type to static recipient and Content template to SLS built-in content template. For the DingTalk channel, set Notification method to All and Content template to SLS built-in content template.
