Simple Log Service:Enable the log delivery feature

This topic describes how to enable the log delivery feature in the Cloud Config console and deliver the following types of resource data to Simple Log Service: Historical Configuration Changes, Noncompliance Resource Events, and Scheduled Snapshots.

Prerequisites

Cloud Config is activated. For more information, see Quick start for ordinary accounts.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Cloud Config console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Deliveries.

  3. On the Deliveries page, click Create Delivery.

  4. On the Create Delivery page, configure the following parameters and click OK.

    Parameter

    Description

    Delivery Name

    Specify the name of the log delivery job.

    Channel Type

    Select Log Service from the drop-down list.

    Content

    Select the type of the resource data that you want to deliver to Simple Log Service.

    • Historical Configuration Changes: If the configuration of a resource changes, Cloud Config delivers the configuration change history of the resource to Simple Log Service.

    • Noncompliance Resource Events: If a resource is evaluated as non-compliant after audit, Cloud Config delivers the non-compliance event of the resource to Simple Log Service.

    • Scheduled Snapshots: By default, Cloud Config delivers the snapshots of resources to Simple Log Service at 00:00:00 and 12:00:00 every day.

    Logstore Source

    • Create a new log item in this account: creates a project.

    • Select an existing log item in this account: uses an existing project.

    Project Region

    Select a region where the project resides.

    Project Name

    Specify the name of the project.

    Logstore Name

    Specify the name of the Logstore.

    Events Of Specified Resource Type

    Specify the resource type of the data that you want to deliver. For more information about the resource types supported by Cloud Config, see Alibaba Cloud services and resource types supported by Cloud Config.

    Recipient Address For Large Files

    Specify the address that is used to receive large files.

    • If you configure this parameter and the size of a file that is delivered from Cloud Config to Simple Log Service exceeds 1 MB, the file is automatically stored in the Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket that you specify.

      Important

      If you select Recipient Address For Large Files, you must configure the Region, Account, and Bucket Name parameters. Make sure that the region and account of the recipient address for large files are the same as the region and account of the recipient address for common files.

    • If you do not configure this parameter and the size of a file that is delivered from Cloud Config to Simple Log Service exceeds 1 MB, the file is automatically truncated and the excess content of the file is discarded.

In the log delivery job list, click the log delivery job and view the information about the job.

Modify the log delivery job

In the log delivery job list, click Edit in the Actions column of the log delivery job to modify the job.

Stop the log delivery job

In the log delivery job list, click Disable in the Actions column of the log delivery job to stop the job.

Delete the log delivery job

In the log delivery job list, click Delete in the Actions column of the log delivery job to delete the job.

What to do next

After Cloud Config logs are delivered to Simple Log Service, you can query, analyze, download, ship, and transform the logs. You can also configure alerts for the logs. For more information, see Common operations on logs of Alibaba Cloud services.
