On-duty groups let you schedule shifts based on cycles and business hours.
Prerequisites
A user or a user group is created. For more information, see Create users and user groups.
Procedure
Log on to the Simple Log Service console.
Go to the Shift Group Management tab.
In the Projects section, click a project.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Alerts.
On the Alert Center page, choose .

Click Create.

In the Add On-duty Group dialog box, configure the following basic information.
Parameter
Description
Identifier
The identifier of the on-duty group. The identifier must be unique within your Alibaba Cloud account.
Group Name
The name of the on-duty group.
Enable
Enables or disables the on-duty group.

If you turn on this switch, the on-duty group can be used to schedule shifts.

If you turn off this switch, the on-duty group cannot be used to schedule shifts.

Configure a shift plan.
The shift schedule has three views: Final Shift Plan, Rotating Shifts, and Substitute Shifts. After you configure rotating shifts and substitute shifts, the combined schedule appears in the Final Shift Plan view. If a user on a rotating shift is unavailable, use a substitute shift to assign another user as cover.

In the Add Rotating Shift dialog box, set the following parameters and click Save.

Start Time
The time when the rotating shift starts.
End Time
The time when the rotating shift ends.
Limits
The time range during which the rotating shift is valid.

None: The shift is active 24 hours a day.

Business days: The shift is active only on business days. You can specify a time range.

Non-business days: The shift is active only on non-business days. You can specify a time range.

Daily: The shift is active every day. You can specify a time range.

Weekly: The shift is active during a specific time range each week.
Object
The on-duty employee. You can select multiple users and user groups.
NoteDisabled users and user groups are automatically filtered out when you configure a rotating shift.
Rotation Type
The type of the rotating shift. Valid values: Hourly Shift, Daily Shift, Weekly Shift, and Monthly Shift.
Handover Time
The time when the rotating shift changes. Valid values vary based on the shift type.

Optional. Configure a substitute shift.

In the Add Substitute Shift dialog box, set the following parameters and click Save.

Substitute
The substitute employee. You can select only one user.
Start Time
The time when the substitute shift starts.
End Time
The time when the substitute shift ends.
You can use quick settings such as End of This Week, End of Next Week, End of This Month, End of This Quarter, End of This Year, or Custom.
Limits
The time range during which the substitute shift is valid.

None: The substitute shift is active 24 hours a day.

Business days: The substitute shift is active only on business days. You can specify a time range.

Non-business days: The substitute shift is active only on non-business days. You can specify a time range.

Daily: The substitute shift is active every day. You can specify a time range.

Weekly: The substitute shift is active during a specific time range each week.

View the final shift plan.
Click the tab. The calendar displays the schedule in a monthly view. Each date shows a Shift or Off tag with the assigned users. The current date is highlighted with a blue circle.

Configure a calendar.
Select a custom calendar or the global default calendar. For a custom calendar, you can specify or reset the time zone, non-business days, business days, and business hours. Shift times adjust according to the calendar settings.

Custom calendar: Allows you to customize time ranges for business days and holidays.

Default Global Calendar: Uses a preset calendar, such as a national holiday calendar. All on-duty groups that use this option share the same calendar. For more information, see Modify the global default calendar.
