Network Load Balancer (NLB) supports subscription resource plans. After an NLB resource plan takes effect, it automatically offsets the Load Balancer Capacity Unit (LCU) fees and instance fees of NLB. NLB resource plans are more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. You can specify the time when you want your resource plans to take effect. NLB resource plans are suitable for enterprises on a fixed budget.

When you purchase an NLB resource plan, you can specify the time when the resource plan takes effect. After a resource plan takes effect, Alibaba Cloud automatically uses the resource plan to offset LCU fees and instance fees. You do not need to configure the resource plan.

NLB resource plans provide 5,000 to 100,000 LCUs to meet the business requirements of various enterprises. You can purchase multiple NLB resource plans to meet your business requirements.
Cost effective
NLB resource plans are more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. NLB resource plans of larger sizes provide LCUs at lower unit prices. You can purchase NLB resource plans to reduce the networking costs of your NLB service.

Purchase a resource plan
Purchase guide
You can select a resource plan based on the scale of your business, the region where NLB is activated, and the time when you want it to take effect.
Procedure
- Log on to the NLB console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the NLB Resource Plans page, click Buy Now.
On the NLB Resource Plans (International Site) page, specify the region, resource plan size, quantity, activation time, and validity period based on your business requirements, then click Buy Now.
Parameter
Description
Region
Select the region of the resource plan. Valid values: Chinese Mainland Region and Outside Chinese Mainland.
Resource Plan Size
Select the size of the resource plan. The number of LCUs provided by a resource plan varies based on the size. For more information, see Sizes and pricing.
Quantity
Specify the number of resource plans that you want to purchase.
Effective At
Select the time when the resource plan takes effect. Valid values:
Effective Immediately: A resource plan takes effect immediately after you complete the payment.
Effective at Specified Time (By Hour): A resource plan takes effect at the specified time after you complete the payment.
Specified Time
Select the time when the resource plan takes effect.
NoteIf you set Effective Time Selection to Effective Immediately After Payment, this parameter is unavailable.
If you set Effective At to Effective Immediately, this parameter is unavailable.
Validity Period
Select the validity period of the resource plan. Only 1 Year is available.
View the usage details
Before you view the details of a resource plan, make sure that you have purchased a resource plan.
- Log on to the NLB console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the NLB Resource Plans page, click View Resource Plans.
On the Manage Reserved Instances page, you can view the basic information and usage details of NLB resource plans.
On the Instances tab, you can view the following information about an NLB resource plan: owner account, region, resource plan ID, size, remaining quota, effective time, and expiration time.
In the upper right corner of the resource plan list, you can click Customize Column Options to hide or show columns.
In the upper right corner of the resource plan list, you can click Export to export and download the resource plan list.
On the Details tab, you can view the usage details of NLB resource plans.
You can filter usage details by setting the Start Time, Instance Name, or Deducted instance ID parameter.
In the upper right corner of the resource plan list, you can click Customize Column Options to hide or show columns.
In the upper right corner of the resource plan list, you can click Export to export and download the resource plan list.
Configure low capacity alerts
After you configure low capacity alerts for resource plans and subscribe to notifications, Alibaba Cloud notifies you by email, text message, or internal message when the remaining capacity of a resource plan reaches a specified value.
- Log on to the NLB console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the NLB Resource Plans page, click View Resource Plans.
On the Manage Reserved Instances page, click the Instances tab. In the upper right corner of the resource plan list, click Set Remaining Quota Alert to configure low capacity alerts for resource plans and subscribe to notifications.
In the Set Remaining Quota Alert dialog box, specify the threshold value and click OK.
NoteYou can configure a threshold value based on your business requirements. For example, you can specify 20%. In this case, you are notified when the remaining capacity of a resource plan is equal to or lower than 20%.
The following section describes the parameters:
Set Quota Alert: After you enable Set Quota Alert, the alert rule applies to all resource plans.
Set Batch Threshold Proportion: Specify the threshold value for multiple resource plans. Valid values: 5, 10, 20, and 30. Unit: percentage.
Resource Package Name: If you need to specify different threshold values for different resource plans, you can enable Threshold Alert and set Proportion. Valid values: 5, 10, 20, and 30. Unit: percentage.
In the top navigation bar, move the pointer over the
icon and choose Message Settings.
On the Common Settings page, select Notifications of Product Expiration. After a resource plan expires, Alibaba Cloud sends notifications to the current account contact. You can click Modify to change the account contact.
