You can configure a simple application server to be automatically renewed when you create the server. You can also manually renew the server after you create it. If the configurations of your simple application server can no longer meet your business requirements, you can upgrade your server. This topic describes how to upgrade and manually renew your simple application server.

Background information

A simple application server automatically stops 15 days after it expires. The data on the server is retained for another 15 days from the moment the server stops. You can start the server after you renew it within the 15-day period of time. If you fail to renew the server within the 15-day period of time, the server and the snapshots and custom images that are created from the server are released. The data cannot be recovered.

For more information, see Expiration and overdue payment.

Upgrade a simple application server

We recommend that you create snapshots for the disks of your simple application server to back up data before you upgrade the server. For more information, see Create a snapshot.
Note It takes time to create snapshots. Wait until the snapshots are created.

When you upgrade the server, the system calculates the price difference between the original and new plans. You must pay this difference. The actual price difference is displayed on the Upgrade page of the Simple Application Server console. For more information, see Upgrade a simple application server.

Note You cannot downgrade but can only upgrade a simple application server.
