If a domain name is bound to your simple application server, you can configure HTTPS-encrypted access to the domain name. This access method leverages encryption and identity authentication to ensure the security of data transfer. This topic describes how to enable HTTPS-encrypted access.
Prerequisites
- The Select extended services provided by Alibaba Cloud option is selected when you create the simple application server. For more information,
see Create a server.
Note The Select extended services provided by Alibaba Cloud option is available only for some images. If this option is not available when you select an image, the method described in this topic to enable HTTPS-encrypted access is not applicable to the image that you selected. In this case, you can install an SSL certificate to enable HTTPS-encrypted access. For more information, see Installation overview.
- If your simple application server is located inside mainland China, you must obtain an Internet Content Provider (ICP) filing for the domain name. For more information, see What is an ICP filing?.
- The domain name is bound to the simple application server by using Alibaba Cloud DNS. For more information, see Domain Management.
- An SSL certificate is associated with the domain name. This certificate can be a free or paid certificate that is issued by Alibaba Cloud or a third-party service provider. For more information, see What is SSL Certificates Service?.
