Smart Access Gateway:Create a client account

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have completed network settings on the SAG app instance.

Create a client account

1. Log on to the SAG console.

2. In the top navigation bar, select the region.

3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway App > SAG App Instances.

4. On the SAG App Instances page, click the ID of the SAG app instance.

5. On the instance details page, click the Client Accounts tab.

6. Click Create Client Account, configure the following parameters, and then click OK.

   Parameter	Description
   Username	Enter a username for the client account. The username must be 7–33 characters and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), at signs (@), periods (.), and hyphens (-). It must start with a letter or digit. Usernames must be unique within the same SAG app instance. If you leave this field blank, the email address is used as the username and the system auto-generates a password.
   Email address	Enter the email address for the client account. After the account is created, the system sends the account credentials to this address.
   Static IP	Select whether to assign a static IP address to the client account. If you select Yes, enter an IP address within the private CIDR block of the SAG app instance — the client uses this address every time it connects. If you select No, the system allocates an IP address from the private CIDR block each time the client connects.
   Set maximum bandwidth	Enter the maximum bandwidth for the client account. Default: 2,000 Kbit/s. Valid values: 1–20,000 Kbit/s.
   Set password	Enter a password for the client account. The password must be 8–32 characters and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), at signs (@), periods (.), and hyphens (-). It must start with a letter or digit.
   Maximum bandwidth for application acceleration	Enter the maximum application acceleration bandwidth in Kbit/s. If the SAG app instance is not yet associated with an application acceleration plan, see Associate an application acceleration plan before setting this parameter.

   

After the account is created, the system automatically sends the SAG app instance ID, username, and password to the specified email address.

Associate an application acceleration plan

If the SAG app instance is not associated with an application acceleration plan, complete the following steps before setting the Maximum bandwidth for application acceleration parameter.

1. If you have not purchased an application acceleration plan in the current region, purchase one first, then return to the Create Client Account page.

2. Below the Maximum bandwidth for application acceleration field, click Associate.

3. In the Associate with Bandwidth Plan dialog box, select the application acceleration plan, set a maximum bandwidth value, and click OK. The plan is automatically associated with the SAG app instance.

4. Set the Maximum bandwidth for application acceleration parameter.
