This topic describes how to view, update, and delete a stack group.

View a stack group

You can view details, such as the basic Information, permissions, instances, and template, of a stack group.

  1. Log on to the Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack Groups.
  3. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the stack group is deployed from the region drop-down list.
  4. On the Stack Groups page, click the name of the stack group whose details you want to view.
  5. On the stack group management page, view the details of the stack group.
    • The Stack Group Information tab displays the Basic Information, Permissions, and Deployment Configurations sections.
Note The Deployment Configurations section appears only if the stack group has service-managed permissions.
    • The Instances tab displays the stack instances that are created within execution accounts.
    • The Operations tab displays the status of operations that are performed on the stack group. You can click an operation ID to view the details of the operation, including the status of the operation, the execution accounts within which the operation is performed, and the region of the stack group on which the operation is performed.
    • The Parameters tab displays all the parameters that you configure when you create the stack group. The parameters include pseudo parameters that are provided by ROS and prefixed by ALIYUN::.
    • The Template tab displays the details of the template that is used to create the stack group.

Update a stack group

You can update information, such as the template, template parameters, permission model, deployment object, about a stack group based on your business requirements. This way, you can update the stack instances in the stack group.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack Groups.
  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the stack group is deployed from the region drop-down list.
  3. On the Stack Groups page, find the stack group that you want to update, and click Update in the Actions column.
  4. In the Select Template step, choose whether to use an existing template, and click Next.
    • If you select Use Existing Template, the template is not updated.
    • If you select Replace Current Template, you must specify a new template.

  6. In the Configure Stack Group step, set Permissions to Self-managed Permissions or Service-managed Permissions based on your business requirements, and click Next.
Note If stack instances exist in a stack group, you cannot change the permission model of the stack group.
  7. In the Set Deployment Options step, modify deployment option parameters and click Next.
The parameters that you can modify vary based on the permission model of the stack group:
    • If you set Permissions to Self-managed Permissions, you can modify parameters including Accounts, Regions, Resource Group, Maximum Number of Concurrent Accounts, and Fault Tolerance.

For more information about the parameters, see Self-managed permission parameters.

    • If you set Permissions to Service-managed Permissions, you can modify parameters including Resource Directories, Automatic Deployment, Account Removal Behavior, Regions, Resource Group, Maximum Number of Concurrent Accounts, and Fault Tolerance.

For more information about the parameters, see Service-managed permission parameters.

  8. In the Check and Confirm step, verify that the specified information about the stack group is valid and click Confirm.
