Resource Management:View delivery failure events and configure alerts

View details of failed Resource Center delivery events to OSS or SLS in CloudMonitor, and configure alert notifications via phone, text message, or email.

View delivery failure events

  1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > System Event.

  3. On the Event Monitoring tab, view events for failed deliveries from Resource Center to SLS or OSS.

    Filter events by Product and Event Name.

    • Service: Select Resources.

    • Event Name: Select ResourceCenter:Delivery:SLS:Fail or ResourceCenter:Delivery:OSS:Fail.

  4. In the event list, find the target event and click Details in the Actions column to view event details in JSON format.

    A delivery failure event has the name ResourceCenter:Delivery:SLS:Fail, level INFO, and product name resourcemanager.

Configure alert notifications

Configure alert notifications to receive alerts by phone, text message, or email when delivery to OSS or SLS fails.

  1. Create an alert contact.

    1. Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alerts > Alert Contacts.

    3. On the Alert Contacts tab, click Create Alert Contact.

    4. In the Set Alert Contact panel, enter the name, email, and webhook URL, and leave Alert Notification Language set to Auto.

      Note

      With the Automatic setting, Cloud Monitor adapts the language of alert notifications based on your Alibaba Cloud account's registration language.

    5. Optional. Test the connectivity of the webhook URL.

      If you want to test the connectivity of the webhook URL, perform the following steps:

      1. Click Test next to the webhook URL.

        In the Webhook Test panel, you can check the connectivity and use the returned status code and test result details to troubleshoot issues.

        Note

        You can also set the Test Template Type and Language for the webhook and click Test again to obtain the corresponding test result details.

      2. Click Close.

    6. Verify the information and click OK.

    7. Optional. Activate the email address of the alert contact.

      The status of a new email address is Pending Activation. To receive alerts, the contact must click the activation link in the email within 24 hours. The activated email address will then appear in the alert contact list.

  2. Create an alert contact group.

    1. On the Alert Contacts page, click the Alert Contact Group tab.

    2. On the Alert Contact Group tab, click Create Alert Contact Group.

    3. In the Create Alert Contact Group panel, enter a name for the group and select the desired alert contacts.

    4. Click OK.

  3. Create a notification policy.

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > Notification Configuration.

    2. On the Notification Configuration page, click Create policy.

    3. In the Create policy panel, set the following parameters.

      Name

      The name of the notification configuration policy.

      Description

      The description of the notification configuration policy.

      Notifications

      The initial recipient of an alert notification. The following options are available for Notification Settings:

      • Set Notification Group Directly: Select an alert contact group.

      • Set the notification group by severity: Select an alert contact group by alert level: Critical, Warning, Notification (Info), or Resolved.

  4. Create a subscription policy.

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Event Center > Event Subscription.

    2. On the Subscription Policy tab, click Create Subscription Policy.

    3. On the Create Subscription Policy page, configure the subscription policy.

      • Basic Information: Enter a name and description for the subscription policy.

      • Alert Subscription: Configure the subscription type and subscription scope.

        • Subscription Type: Select System Event.

        • Subscription Scope: For Product, select Resource Management. For Event Type, select Delivery. For Event Name, select ResourceCenter:Delivery:OSS:Fail and ResourceCenter:Delivery:SLS:Fail.

      • Combined Noise Reduction: Use the default settings.

      • Notification: Select the notification policy that you created in step 3.

      • Push and Integration: No configuration is required.

    4. Click OK.
