    As of May 12, 2026 (Singapore Time), RDS for MySQL supports MySQL major version 8.4 across the Basic, High-availability, and Cluster editions on both cloud disks and high-performance local disks.

    MySQL major version 8.4 is now available for RDS for MySQL. You can select this version when creating an instance. Supported configurations:

    • Editions: Basic, High-availability, and Cluster.

    • Storage types: cloud disks and high-performance local disks.
