Quick BI:Upgrade the row-level permission management feature (old version) to the row- and column-level permission management feature (new version)

Last Updated:Feb 07, 2023

If you want to use the row- and column-level permission management feature (new version), you can perform the upgrade operations in this topic.

Prerequisites

The Quick BI service is purchased or applied for a trial use before June 3, 2021.

Precautions

  • The time required for an upgrade is estimated based on the number of datasets for which you configure the row- and column-level permissions in the current organization. The estimated time is for reference only.

  • After an upgrade, you must check whether the new version achieves the same permission management effect as the old version. If the effects before and after the upgrade are different, contact technical support engineers of Quick BI for troubleshooting. If your business is affected due to the upgrade, you can click Roll Back to roll back the feature to the old version.

  • If you use the row- and column-level permission management feature (new version) for a period of time and you want to roll back to the old version, the row- and column-level permissions that you configured in the new version become invalid. Proceed with caution.

  • If the upgrade fails, contact Q&A personnel and technical support engineers of Quick BI.

Upgrade procedure

  1. Log on to the Quick BI console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click the Settings icon.

Row and Column Permissions Updated to New Version
  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Collaborative Authorization Configuration.

  4. On the Row and Column Permissions Updated to New Version tab of the Collaborative Authorization Configuration page, click Upgrade.

After the upgrade is complete, you can use the row- and column-level permission management feature (new version). For more information, see Configure row-level permissions (new version) and Configure column-level permissions.
