This topic describes how to manage feature permissions and data permissions for the Q-Ask feature.
Feature Permission Management
To use or manage the Q-Ask feature, you need to configure feature permissions by creating a custom organization role and adding the relevant users to that role.
For example, if User A needs centralized management permissions for Q-Ask to manage and grant permissions for all Q-Ask resources, you can create an organization role, select Centralized Management, and then add User A as a role user.
Only the Professional Edition supports custom roles for feature permission management.
If you use the Premium Edition, custom roles are not supported. Only organization administrators can configure query permissions.
Entry
Access the Role Management interface as depicted below.

Create an Organization Role
Create an Organization Role on the Role Management page as illustrated.

Configure Feature Permissions
Configure the role's feature permissions on the Role Management->Feature Role page as shown.

Q-Ask has three feature permissions: Centralized Management, Dataset Query Configuration, and Query. The permissions are described as follows:
Centralized Management: Users with this permission can manage and grant permissions for all Q-Ask resources on the Organization Management > Q-Ask page. Users with this permission have the Dataset Query Configuration and Query permissions by default.
Dataset Query Configuration: When selected, this user can perform Query Configuration on datasets they own. Users with dataset query configuration permissions by default have query permissions.
Query: Users with this permission can use the Q-Ask feature.
Organization administrators have all permissions for Q-Ask. Permission administrators, regular users, and newly created custom organization roles have the Query permission by default. For more information about how to manage custom organization roles, see Role Management.
Add Role Users
Add users as role users on the Role Management->Role Users page as indicated below.

Upon successful addition, the new users will appear on the Role Management->Role Users page for management.

User A now has all permissions for Q-Ask, including Centralized Management, Dataset Query Configuration, and Query.
You can also grant users only query permissions or dataset query configuration permissions using the steps outlined above.
Query permission management
If you have the Centralized Management permission for Q-Ask, you can manage data permissions.
Prerequisites
You have created datasets and configured queries.
For more details, see Prepare Data.
Entry
Access the Permission Management interface as illustrated below.

Add Authorization
Select a user and choose to grant permissions By Dataset, By Analysis Subject, or By Dashboard as shown in the following figure.

Enter the Add Authorization Interface to include query resources.
① Select query resources.NoteThe maximum number of query datasets is 200, and for analysis subjects, it is 100.
② Determine the expiration date
Manually select an expiration date or quickly choose a time period.

③ After selecting Complete, the authorized resources for the users will be visible, and you can revoke authorization, adjust the expiration date, or add more authorizations.

Sync Permissions to Other Users
Sync permissions to other users as demonstrated below.

The synchronization method is incremental synchronization.
Authorizations granted By Dashboard cannot be synced to other users.
