Quick Audience:Self-service Analysis

Administrators, self-service analysis-developers, and self-service analysis-analysts perform flexible data analysis on audience based on self-service analysis datasets. You can also select new audience in reports to compare the data performance of different audience on the same metric.

Note

Before you perform a self-service analysis, you must create a Self-service Analysis Dataset.

Create a self-service analysis

Procedure

  1. Choose Workspace> User Insight > Audience Insight > Self-Service Analysis > Self-Service Analysis List, as shown in the following figure. image

  2. Click New Self-Service Analysis in the upper-right corner. In the dialog box that appears, enter a name for the self-service analysis, select the dataset that you want to use, and then click OK. image

  3. The following figure shows the self-service analysis page. You can perform self-service analysis on the page. image

    Drag a field (or some field values) from the dimension list to the "horizontal axis field" or "vertical axis field" on the right, or drag it to the "row" or "column" field in the upper-right corner. Then, drag a field from the measure list to the "measure" field on the right to generate a report, as shown in the following figure.

    Multiple advanced features are supported. For more information, see Quick BI Ad Hoc Analysis Data Selection. The operations are the same except that dataset selection is not supported.

  4. To compare the data performance of different audiences on the same metric, you need to drag the audience_names field in the dimension list and then drag the field in the measure list as the metric to compare, as shown in the following figure. image

  5. To generate a new audience by ring selection in a report:

    1. In the report, select the metrics of the user for whom you want to generate a audience, right-click the metrics, and then select Generate Audience Package, as shown in the following figure. image

    2. In the dialog box that appears, enter an audience name and click OK. image

      The generated audience is added to the audience list. The audience source is displayed as Create. You can push, analyze, and download the content.   6. After you create a report, click Save or Save and Publish in the upper-right corner. The analysis configuration is added to the analysis list. Other members who have the required permissions can also use the analysis configuration.

Manage self-service analysis

The created self-service analysis is added to the self-service analysis list, as shown in the following figure.

If you select Only My in the upper-right corner, only the self-service analyses that you have created or edited are displayed in the list.

Self-service analysis has three states: Not Published, Published, and Unpublished.

View self-service analysis

Only published self-service analysis supports viewing. Click View to view the report, as shown in the following figure.

In addition, you can generate a new audience of people by selection in the report. The operation is the same as that during creation.

The three icons on the right side of the page are imageUndo, imageEdit, and imageExport.

When you export data, you can select Excel (pure data with or without format) or image, as shown in the following figure.

Edit self-service analysis

Unpublished and published self-service analysis supports editing. Click Edit to go to the Edit page, as shown in the following figure.

Click Save or Save and Publish or Republish in the upper-right corner.

Unpublish self-service analysis

Published self-service analysis cannot be deleted. Therefore, if a self-service analysis has been published, you must take it unpublished before you can delete it.

Click Unpublish to unpublish a published analysis.

Delete a self-service analysis

You can delete unpublished or unpublished self-service analysis data. Click Delete. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
