PolarDB-X refund eligibility depends on your billing method. Subscription instances support refunds. For pay-as-you-go instances, releasing the instance stops billing immediately.
Billing methods and refunds
Billing method | Refund |
Subscription | Upfront payment at purchase. Apply for a refund if the instance is no longer needed. |
Pay-as-you-go | Charged based on actual usage. Release the instance to stop charges. Back up or migrate your data before releasing. |
Refund scenarios
The following scenarios trigger automatic refunds for subscription instances. For more information, see the relevant documentation.
Scenario | Refund amount |
Change billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go | Remaining upfront payment. Formula: Refund amount = Paid amount - Fees for consumed resources |
Downgrade specifications or reduce nodes | Price difference between the original and new specifications. Formula: Refund amount = Paid amount - Fees for consumed resources |
Cancel a renewal before it takes effect | Full renewal amount. |
Limitations
PolarDB-X pay-as-you-go resources can be used with PolarDB-X storage resources, and different discount plans are available to offset pay-as-you-go fees. Refunds are not supported for discount plans.
