PolarDB-X charges for instance specifications and storage. Columnstore index and Global Database Network (GDN) are optional add-ons available for Enterprise Edition.

Primary instance specifications
The primary instance fee covers all nodes in the instance:
Enterprise Edition: (unit price of compute node specifications × number of compute nodes) + (unit price of data node specifications × number of data nodes)
Standard Edition: based on node specifications

If storage billing is set to Pay-as-you-go, pay-as-you-go charges apply to the storage portion even for subscription instances.
Read-only instance specifications
Read-only instances are available for Enterprise Edition only. Standard Edition does not support read-only instances.
The fee is calculated the same way as a primary instance: (unit price of compute node specifications × number of compute nodes) + (unit price of data node specifications × number of data nodes).

Storage space
Storage space covers data stored across primary instances, read-only instances, and secondary clusters in a GDN.

Columnstore index (Columnar)
Columnstore index is a value-added service for Enterprise Edition that accelerates analytical queries. The feature is free during public preview.
Index storage in Object Storage Service (OSS) is billed separately, even while the feature itself is free.
Global Database Network (GDN)
Global Database Network is a value-added service for Enterprise Edition that enables cross-region local reads and disaster recovery switchovers.
GDN has two cost components:
