Switch a PolarDB cluster from pay-as-you-go to subscription to reduce costs for long-running workloads. The switch takes effect only after payment is complete — submitting the order does not finalize the change.
When you change the billing method, the billing method for storage resources does not change.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
A cluster in the Running state
No pending orders to switch the billing method for the cluster. If pending orders exist, pay for or cancel them on the Orders page before proceeding.
A cluster using currently available specifications. If the cluster uses specifications that are no longer available, upgrade the specifications before switching the billing method.
Switch to subscription
This operation does not affect the business operations on the cluster.
Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Select the region of the cluster, then find the cluster in the list.
In the Actions column of the cluster, click More > Switch to Subscription.
On the Switch to Subscription page, review the cluster information and configure the Purchase Plan parameter. Review the terms of service carefully. If you agree to them, click Buy Now.
The new billing method takes effect after payment is complete. If the order remains unpaid or payment fails, it appears as an unpaid order on the Orders page. New cluster purchases and billing method switches are blocked until you complete payment or cancel the order.
