PolarDB:Connection diagnosis

Last Updated:Mar 30, 2026

Connection Diagnosis checks whether an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance or a specific IP address can reach your PolarDB for MySQL cluster. Run this check to verify network connectivity before connecting your application, or to isolate the cause of a connection failure.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • A PolarDB for MySQL cluster in the PolarDB console

  • The ID of the ECS instance or the IP address of the client you want to test

Run a connectivity check

  1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where your cluster is deployed.

  3. Find the cluster and click its cluster ID.

  4. On the Overview page, go to the Whitelists and Database Accounts section and click Connection Diagnosis.

    Click Connection Diagnosis

  5. Set Input Method based on your connection source:

    • ECS Instance — if the client is an ECS instance. Enter the instance ID in ID of ECS instance (No Cross region Connection).

      Note

Only ECS instances in the same region as the cluster are supported. Cross-region connections are not checked.

    • IP Address — if you want to test a specific client IP address. Enter the address in Client IP Address.

  6. Click Check.
