Drive and Photo Service:Global Accelerator

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2025

Global Accelerator is an intelligent network acceleration technology provided by Drive and Photo Service (Developer Edition) that optimizes data transmission paths to deliver faster and more stable access. This feature leverages the transfer acceleration technology of Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS), intelligently routing user requests to the nearest access point to significantly improve data upload and download speeds. This topic describes how to use Global Accelerator and its applicable scenarios.

Prerequisites

Notes

Using Global Accelerator for data uploads or downloads incurs acceleration fees. Uploading data generates acceleration upload traffic fees, while downloading data generates both acceleration download traffic fees and outbound traffic over Internet fees for the drive. For example, if you download 1 GB of data from your drive using Global Accelerator, you will be charged for 1 GB of transfer acceleration fees and 1 GB of outbound traffic over Internet fees. For billing information, see Value-added billable items and Basic billable items.

Scenarios

  • Data sharing for multinational enterprises

Global Accelerator significantly enhances file transfer speeds between offices in different regions for multinational enterprises, ensuring rapid data synchronization and sharing, which boosts work efficiency.

  • Large data volume upload and download

For users who frequently upload and download large volumes of data, Global Accelerator greatly improves transfer efficiency and saves time.

  • Remote work collaboration

Global Accelerator supports remote teams by enabling quick access and sharing of files, thus enhancing collaboration efficiency.

Enable Global Accelerator

Global Accelerator is a value-added feature that is not enabled by default in Drive and Photo Service (Developer Edition). If you need to use it, you can contact us to enable the feature.
