Before you can use the Intelligent Computing LINGJUN service, you must have an Alibaba Cloud account and activate the required cloud products. This topic describes how to create an Alibaba Cloud account and perform other required preparations.
Background information
LINGJUN uses the same logon system as Alibaba Cloud. You can log on with an Alibaba Cloud account or a Resource Access Management (RAM) user.
An Alibaba Cloud account is the owner of Alibaba Cloud resources and is responsible for metering and billing. You can use an Alibaba Cloud account to create RAM users for your organization, and manage and grant permissions to these users.
A RAM user is created and managed by an Alibaba Cloud account in RAM. A RAM user does not own resources and is not independently metered or billed. The Alibaba Cloud account to which the RAM user belongs is billed for the resources that are used by the RAM user.
Only an Alibaba Cloud account or a RAM user with the following permissions can activate the service:

For more information about how to grant permissions to a RAM user, see Manage the permissions of a RAM user.
Step 1: Create an Alibaba Cloud account
This section describes how to create an Alibaba Cloud account and complete required security configurations, such as identity verification, to prepare for service activation and use. If you already have an Alibaba Cloud account that meets the requirements, you can skip this step.
For more information about how to create an Alibaba Cloud account, see Create an account.
For more information about identity verification, see Which users need to complete identity verification?.
After you create an account, it is considered a root account with high-level permissions that can consume resources. You must keep your account credentials secure. Do not share your credentials with others. We recommend that you regularly update your password.
Step 2: Activate LINGJUN
Log on to the Intelligent Computing LINGJUN console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Resources & Nodes > Node Management.
Click Purchase New Node to go to the compute node purchase page. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the region, instance type, subscription duration, and other information.
Click Buy Now and complete the payment as prompted.
(Optional) Purchase a Lingjun Connection. For some instance types (gu7ef, gu7xf, and some gu8xf) in the Ulanqab region, you need to use a Lingjun Connection to connect Lingjun nodes to your Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) or Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). You can purchase connections as needed. For billing details, see Product Billing.
The LINGJUN connection must be in the same region as the Lingjun compute node. Currently, only the China (Ulanqab) region is supported.
Step 3: Activate other necessary cloud products
To make full use of LINGJUN, you must also activate the following related cloud products:
The following Alibaba Cloud products are billed separately. For more information about the billing rules, see the billing documentation for each product.
For more information about the configuration, see Create a cluster.
