A Lingjun hub is the core forwarding element within a region. It connects multiple Lingjun Virtual Private Datacenters (VPDs) and Lingjun connections, enabling them to exchange traffic through a single hub rather than direct point-to-point links.
Limitations
Lingjun hubs are available only in the China (Ulanqab) region.
Each region supports up to four Lingjun hubs.
How it works
A Lingjun hub connects network instances — Lingjun VPDs and Lingjun connections — within the same region. The connection between a network instance and a hub is called a network instance connection.
Each hub contains a route table. Routing policies in the table control which network instances can reach each other: you configure a source instance (the one advertising routes) and a destination instance (the one receiving routes). Network instances without a routing policy cannot exchange traffic.
The underlying infrastructure uses multiple physical routes and devices for load balancing. If a device or link fails, traffic switches within seconds. Multiple high-quality transmission links exist between any two nodes on the Lingjun network, so the network automatically converges when an underlying link goes down.
Workflow overview
Setting up a Lingjun hub requires three steps in order:
[Create a Lingjun hub](#create-a-lingjun-hub) — provision the hub in the target zone.
[Create network instance connections](#create-a-network-instance-connection) — attach Lingjun VPDs and connections to the hub.
[Create routing policies](#create-a-routing-policy) — define which network instances can exchange routes.
Both network instance connections and routing policies belong to a Lingjun hub. Delete them before deleting the hub.
Create a Lingjun hub
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
Access to the Intelligent Computing Lingjun console
Identified the target zone — the zone cannot be changed after the hub is created
Steps
Log in to the Intelligent Computing Lingjun console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click Create Lingjun Hub.
On the Create Lingjun Hub page, configure the following parameters:
Parameter Description Zone The zone where the hub is deployed. Select the zone of your Lingjun nodes and connections to minimize network latency. Cannot be changed after the hub is created. Name A descriptive name for the hub. Click OK.
A region supports up to four Lingjun hubs.
Create a network instance connection
Creating a network instance connection may cause packet loss in the hub for a few seconds. Perform this operation during off-peak hours.
A network instance connection attaches a Lingjun VPD or Lingjun connection to the hub.
Steps
Log in to the Intelligent Computing Lingjun console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click the Instance ID of the hub to open the Instance Details page.
Click the Network Instance Connection tab.
Click Create Network Instance Connection.
In the Create Network Instance Connection panel, configure the following parameters:
Parameter Description Connection Name A descriptive name for this connection. Network Instance Type The type of network instance to attach: Lingjun VPD or Lingjun connection. Account of Resources Set to Across Accounts if the network instance belongs to a different Alibaba Cloud account. See Cross-account connections for prerequisites. All routes from this Lingjun hub are automatically received When selected, the system automatically creates a routing policy after this connection is created. The connection receives all routes from every other network instance in the hub, including instances added later. Click Yes.
Cross-account connections
To attach a network instance owned by a different Alibaba Cloud account:
In the other account: Grant the current Lingjun hub permission to access the network instance.
For Lingjun VPDs: see "Perform a cross-account authorization for a Lingjun Hub instance" in Manage Lingjun VPDs.
For Lingjun connections: see Manage Lingjun connection instances.
In your account: When creating the network instance connection, set Account of Resources to Across Accounts.
Create a routing policy
A routing policy controls which network instances can exchange routes through the hub. If a hub has no routing policies, none of its network instance connections can receive routes.
Two methods are available:
Automatic — select All routes from this Lingjun hub are automatically received when creating a network instance connection. The system creates a policy that receives all routes from all current and future network instances in the hub.
Manual — create a policy on the Routing Policy tab with explicit source and destination instances.
To create a routing policy manually:
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click the Instance ID of the hub.
On the Instance Details page, click the Routing Policy tab.
Click Create Routing Policy.
In the Create Routing Policy panel, configure the following parameters:
Parameter Description Policy ID A numeric identifier for this policy. When two policies share the same source and destination instances, the one with the lower policy ID takes precedence. Source Instance for Advertising Route The network instance that advertises routes to the hub. Destination Instance for Receiving Route The network instance that receives routes from the hub. Policy Action Allow — the source and destination instances can exchange traffic. Deny — they cannot. Click Yes.
View routing policies
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click the Instance ID of the hub.
Click the Routing Policy tab.
The tab lists each routing policy with its instance ID, policy ID, and status. Filter by source instance ID, destination instance ID, or routing policy ID to narrow results.
Routing policy states:
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Available | The policy is active and routing is in effect. |
| Unavailable | The policy exists but is not routing traffic. |
| In Progress | The policy is being created or updated. Wait for the operation to complete. |
| Deleting | A delete request has been submitted and is processing. |
Delete a routing policy
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click the Instance ID of the hub.
Click the Routing Policy tab. Find the policy to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
Delete a network instance connection
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
Click the Instance ID of the hub.
Click the Network Instance Connection tab. Find the connection to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
Delete a Lingjun hub
Before deleting a hub, delete all of its network instance connections and routing policies first.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Network Resources > Lingjun Hubs.
On the Lingjun Hubs page, find the hub to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
