This topic describes how to create and use a configuration list.
Configuration lists allow you to search the file information of instances. For example, you can search files by file name, file type, file description, modification time, last visit time, file directory, or file size. Before you collect file information, you must specify the instance from which you want to collect information. Then, you must set the required task recurrence and file list information. In this example, the File List Information parameter is set to File. In this case, you need to set the required collection scope. After the configuration takes effect, the client that runs on the required instance submits the property information of files on a regular basis.
A Cloud Assistant client is required to collect the information that is specified in a configuration list. To collect the information of a configuration list, you must install a Cloud Assistant client of the latest version on the required ECS instance. By default, a Cloud Assistant client is installed on official images. This applies to most cases. If you want to check the version of the Cloud Assistant client that runs on the required instance, see How can I install a Cloud Assistant client?
You must use an Alibaba Cloud account that is granted the required permissions to manage Operation Orchestration Service (OOS). If you use an account with administrator permissions, ignore the preceding note. If you use an account that is not granted the required permissions to manage OOS, you must grant these permissions to the account. For more information, see Use RAM to control access at the account level.
Create a configuration list
Log on to the OOS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Configuration Lists.
Click Create Configuration List.
Select the required instances. In this example, select two Linux instances.
Set a collection plan. The Task Recurrence parameter specifies the interval at which a client collects the required information. In this example, set the Task Recurrence parameter to 1 Hour.
- Select File in the List Information section.
Set the required collection scope.
The Path parameter specifies the directories from which you collect information on the required instances.
The Mode parameter specifies a precise match or fuzzy match. The value
*indicates that all files are collected.
The Recursive Query parameter specifies whether the system uses a recursive method to query the specified paths.
The Maximum Scanned Directories parameter specifies a limit.
After the preceding settings take effect, the file information of the /root directory is collected on a regular basis. To view the statistics of collected data, go to the List Overview tab.
